Let’s Talk About It— Day6 of 30Guests in 30 Days.

Feels good to be here! Let's get straight to it.🎉

Everyone who falls has two options, maybe not-so-obvious choices. First, to rise and continue the journey or stay down explaining how bad the fall was and the reasons they can’t proceed to their destination. Many people choose the latter, and they might even have genuine reasons. However, this doesn’t bring the supposed destination to your fall point.

Professional and personal mistakes, disappointment, consequential losses etc. are what we can see around us every day . Irrespective of how unfortunate these events are, they are a part of life.

As a matter of fact, for many who hope to be successful, it is a reality check for their grit and also an expression of the strength of their desire. The most interesting success stories are filled with chapters on “inspite of”, showing how hurdles were surmounted.

When we listen to them, we need to beyond getting excited at their show of tenacity, acknowledge the presence of these hurdles (failures, mistakes etc.). Failures and Mistakes are part of the process, Mark Zuckerberg said “Our greatest success comes from having the freedom to fail”

Now that we have established that it’s “when” not “If” we fail, how do we bounce back and deal with the negativity failure and mistakes bring?

• BE TRUE TO YOURSELF: As cliché as this sounds, it is the first and most important thing to do. How do you even solve a problem you don’t believe exists? A lot of people shy away from acknowledging that things have gone south, they will rather “keep believing” and living in illusions. For you to move ahead, you need to identify what the mistakes are, know what led to them and note their effect on you and your journey. Denying them doesn’t refute their existence. This is simple but important.

• GET SUPPORT: It is very difficult for a tree that is falling or weak to support itself. Failures and mistakes put one in a state where extra strength will be necessary. This is the best time to maximize the good people around you. Most people can relate.

• TAKE LESSONS: The actual failure is that man that keeps making the same mistakes. Failing forward implies taking key lessons from your mistakes. Your next fall shouldn’t be from the same stone.

• MOVE ON: Don’t stop! Remember why you started. If it was a good course when you started, most likely it still is. Re-strategize, do things differently but don’t stop. Move on
