To be happy, it first takes being comfortable being in your own shoes. Yes, I know that sounded like a Hallmark mantra there for a second but it’s true! Never compromise comfort over style. It’s Day 12, and it’s time to discuss an important principle. Get in!
Ladies and gents, shoes are an easy way of accessorizing your wardrobe. They are a good indicator of your sense of style and also deliver an important fashion statement.
However, in an effort to ace your look, you should never try to sacrifice comfort. Because if it’s not comfortable, you won’t enjoy it. You’ll be miserable. And grumpy. This principle of comfort applies to everything, but especially your footwear choices.
Life is too short to be living with discomfort. Try to count how many hours you spend walking and standing during the day. I bet it will be quite a significant number. Now, if you wear shoes that don’t fit you right, you make yourself experience discomfort during all these hours. Are beautiful heels worth it? I doubt that. Especially considering all the adverse effects, you can get overtime.
If you treat your feet right, your whole body will feel good. And it’s not a myth. Wearing uncomfortable footwear, you risk getting some serious issues with your health. One of the dangerous conditions you can experience is Morton’s neuroma – the thickening of the tissue around the nerve. High-heeled or tight shoes usually cause the neuroma.
If you work in an office, you can put more comfortable footwear once you arrive to work. Ladies, there are a lot of beautiful shoes with medium or low heels that will make you look as great as the high-heeled pair does. For the gents, invest time in finding a comfortable and good-looking option. It’s better to carry out your daily activities with ease rather than walking around like a crazy person.
For instance, wearing high heels at an outdoor event is to say hello to disaster(especially a sandy area), but it is equally inappropriate to wear sneakers in very professional and formal occasions. Also, it may be unpleasant to see someone wearing flip flops at a board meeting, unless it is allowed to do so.
Awareness is key here.
A well-organized event would normally suggest a dress code. But even without one, many factors can help inform the decision on what to wear. We may want to step back and
re-evaluate how we want to present ourselves.
